Well my main character that I use is a Ranger and I know a few builds one you already have which is the Barrager pet Build, good for Fissure of Woe. The other builds that I've played around with are a Tapper build and Rotscale Farmer.
Trapper Build,
Weapon Equipped - Preferably a Staff that gives +10 or +15 to Energy
Attributes,
Wilderness Survival - 16 (12+3+1)
Expertise - 9 (8+1)
Beast Mastery - 5 (4+1)
Skill Bar,
1. Spike Trap (Elite Skill)
2. Dust Trap
3. Flame Trap
4. Barb Trap
5. Quickening Zephyr (QZ) or Winnowing (WW) or Energizing Winds (EW)
6. Whirling Defense or Lightning Reflexes or Escape (Elite Skill)
7. Troll Unguent
8. Rebirth or Resurrect Signet or Equivalent
You don't have to use those specific Traps skills there are more, but I don't have Factions or Nightfall yet and only use those four Trap skill, so feel free to try different combinations of Trap skills and Spirits.
This Build is used mainly for Underworld in either a 3 or 4 man team but it can also be used for Farming Trolls in the Southern Shiverpeaks as well as other areas.
The trick for a Trapping Team to work effectively is to get the Trapping team to activate Spirits QZ, EW and WW, then place each Trap on top of each other or as close to that as you can get. Continue to lay Traps till EW or QZ deactivates (though if it's for only one or two monsters you don't have to wait that long!) and then the Ranger that's been designated as the bait, lures the monsters to the spot where you placed all your traps and hey presto they should be dead, if not finish them off by laying another couple of traps. However when luring Smite Crawlers you have to lure as many as you can and bunch them up cause all it takes is just one of them to survive to ruin the whole thing same goes for Aatxes.
Rotscale Farming,
Attributes,
Set them up to so that you have a high Marksmanship, Medium Wilderness Survival and Medium to Low Expertise.
I'll get figures for you later cause I'm still experimenting with this build!
Skill Bar,
1. Barrage (Elite Skill0
2. Distracting Shot or Deliberating Shot
3. Concussion Shot or Savage Shot
4. Troll Unguent or Healing Breeze or Equivalent
5. Whirling Defense or Lightning Reflexes or Escape (Elite Skill)
6. Favourable Winds or Winter
7.Antidote Singnet
8. Rebirth or Res Signet or Equivalent
You can find them in Majesty's Rest, on what I call Dragon Island. You can't miss it, there's a Statue to Balthazar in front of the island. If you kneel before it an Avatar of Balthazar will appear and you can buy a 2% Morale boost for 100 gold so you can get rid of that nasty Death Penalty.
Rotscale Dragons are Level 30 and are really really hard, even the smaller Rotwings are Level 24! Rotscale Dragons are harder than Glint so leave it till last! The reason they are so hard is that they can drop a Green Bow called the Rotwing Recurve Bow which is worth around 15k though I'm sure someone can tell you the exact value.
The trick is to take out the Skeletal Bowman, Necrid Horseman, Damned Clerics and Phantasms first leaving the Rotscale and Rotwing Dragons and then try and lure them down of their lofty perch. They will use Malaise on you which slows down you Energy recharge rate so try not to use your skills too much especially if they cost 15+ Energy to use! The island itself also Poisons you for being on it cause even after everything is dead you'll be continuously Poisoned, that's the reason behind the Antidote Signet and the fact that the Skeletal Bowmen use Poison Arrows.
A good party for this is to have a couple of Warriors, Elementalist, Monks and Rangers. A Mesmer and Necro can come in very handy indeed!
So don't rush in, pick your targets and make sure they die and pay close attention to your Health and Energy cause they will go down very fast!
Again I'm still tinkering around with this Build and it's worked twice but that was two good teams and the second team I was in had a few members of this Guild and that's how I got invited to join! Feel free to modify this Build in anyway, I'm open to suggestions and criticism!
