Mesmer pve casters nuker domination - 16 fast casting - 12 inspiration - 8 (?) weapons: anything with emphasis on energy and HSR/HCT Skills: -------- 1. Cry of Frustration 2. Spiritual Pain 3. Energy Surge (e) 4. Arcane Echo 5. Signet of Weariness 6. Chaos Storm 7. Energy Tap 8. res Usage: -------- This build is for nuking a group of casters (more than 2) and making them wish they could commit suicide. Someone said before that a mesmer doesn't have AOE spells. Well, I say lols on you. This is a build with 5 AOE spells. All are good. Start with echoed energy surge to cause 160 damage to all foes in the area (that's right, in the area), and drain 16 energy from some caster. Then have the freedom to cast any other spell based on what is going on. Always have a finger on Cry of Frustration. If you can catch the nukers starting to cast, not only you interrupt them, you also gain 10 points of pride and satisfaction

Me/Mo Fast Hex Eater (recommended for hero mesmer)
Inspiration Magic - 14 Fast Casting - 14
Weapon: Two HCT 20% bonuses.
1. Expel Hexes (e) 2. Inspired Hex 3. Smite Hex 4. Remove Hex 5. Hex Eater Signet 6. Optional 7. Optional 8. res
Usage: --------- The role of this build is one - to quickly remove hexes. Useful in pve against groups of necros or mesmers.
Most of those skills are cheap in energy and often even provide energy. Most of them have 1 second cast time which is significantly lower with high fast casting. Hence, you can cast them almost as much as you like on yourself and other team members.
Usage is simple. Use any free skill among skills 1-4 to remove a hex by order. Remove hex is the slowest, so prefer other skills is they are not recharging. Think like a monk and constantly keep your team hex-free.
Prefer Expel Hexes when you know that more than one hex was set on target ally. This is usually the case with cover hexes. Take for example the shadow beasts in FoW - they will always cast two hexes (one is SS).
Prefer Inspired Hex when you are low on energy.
Lastly, use Hex Eater Signet for AOE hexes to clean the team of hexes and gain a lot of energy.
This is also a good hero build.
Update: tested it on Nergu (sp?) mesmer hero along with Mantra of Frost to farm lightbringer points in gate of fear. Worked nicely.

Lot of succes with this in RA. This build is a lot better than it looks. I have earned many glad points with this build, at least 3 in teams without monks or healing rits - so u know its effective.
Hex meelee spikers first - Assasins a priority. Corrupt enchantment awesome vs monks, eles, dervishes etc. Parasitic bond is cover. Beware interupting rangers - u must hide from them. Rits and missile rangers are ur main worries - try and keep faintheartedness on them, then leave them for ur team mates.
Spare points in attributes in case u pick up something useful with inspired hex. After meelee chars have been nuetralized (and are providing steady energy) spread faintheartedness and bond around the opposing team for degen, whilst keeping a look out for enchantments to snap. Mind that Ether feast can be used for energy denial in drawn out games, and is effective vs touchers.

Here's my usual Mes build, it's a generic AB one - can deal with most players if my interupts are timed well:

It owns casters, and can usually do ok against most Nooby Sins, and Dervs, I struggle with warrior tanks though - but then I'm a cloth caster...
EDIT: Shatter Enchanment is a must for AB and PvP because it ruins all gimmic builds (55Hp Ele/Derv) that rely on having a number of enchantments running simoutlaneously
